La Serenissima. Lecture and AGM, Arts Society of King's Lynn

Venice is synonymous with art: the great Venetian painters Bellini, Titian, Tintoretto, Lotto Veronese and Canaletto all lived there. The UK’s public art collections hold hundreds of paintings relating to Venice ranging from Old Masters to works by Turner, Monet, Sickert and even Winston Churchill. Lecturer Mary Rose Rivett-Carnac looks at some of these works and reveals the stories behind them.
Mary Rose gained an MA in Victorian Art at Royal Holloway. Since 2007 she has worked for the Public Catalogue Foundation (now Art UK). She is a volunteer guide at both J.M.W. Turner’s house and Dorich House Museum.
Lectures are free to ASKL members. Guests are welcome at £7 per lecture by application to the treasurer: email hidden; JavaScript is required
